A Thing of the Past

Hauling potentially unsafe water to their homes from shallow, hand dug wells, will soon be a thing of the past for the small community of Tepeagua.

WEFTA volunteers Matt Earthman, Steve Wright and board member, John Lincoln, visited the El Salvadoran community and performed well testing on an existing well to assess its suitability for use in the community water system, and field verified proposed waterline alignment and tank location. The project is a joint-effort with Habitat for Humanity – El Salvador, and involves the design of a water distribution system and storage tank to bring water spigots to approximately 135 homes, reducing risk of contaminants and waterborne diseases.
